Welcome to year 3/4S

 

Here's what we are learning next half term:

Maths

In Autumn 2, we will be learning about multiplication and division, and finding the area of 2D shapes.

We will be exploring a variety of ways to solve problems and give reasons for our answers.

 

English 

In English, we will first be writing a newspaper report based on our topic of The Romans. 

We will also be writing mystery stories that will involve meeting many of our year 3/4 grammar targets.

 

Science 

In Autumn 2, our topic is Animals including Humans.

In this topic, we will be learning about animals and their habitats, as well as the human body, including bones and muscles.

 

 

Reminders…

 

    • Each Monday and Tuesday is PE, the children must bring the appropriate PE Kit in a labelled PE bag.
    • Each Wednesday, children will be going swimming, and will need an appropriate kit. 
    • Spellings will go home on a Monday and need to be practiced for the Friday Spelling Test 
    • Literacy, Numeracy, Topic or RE Homework will go home on a Friday to be returned the following Tuesday.
    • Reading Records need to be written in each night and shown in class every morning along with both reading books.

This is so appropriate for all of us here in St. Cuthbert’s School Community as we embark on our special journey of making the school Outstanding. The prayer is written throughout the school and is a constant reminder and prompt that all that we do in serving this community is done with the help of the Lord.

May we be generous in embracing change and always be sensitive to one another as we take the next step on our Journey together with the Lord.
