It is vital that children know their times tables and practice mental arithmetic.

Continuing our fantasy story writing, the children are excited to write their own.

In R.E our topic is Vocation and commitment. We will be learning about Baptism and Confirmation and it's imprtance in the Catholic faith.

Our topic during Autumn will be all about WW1 and WW2. We will be experimenting with using compass directions on a trip to Fog Lane park, which will help us to plan what resources we need during a battle. We will be making soldiers stew from rationed ingredients and addressing different geography skills of human and physical geography.

In Science we will investigating everything to do with LIGHT! Looking at the colour spectrum, how we see and how we are able to see different colours.

    • Each Monday and Thursday is PE, the children must bring the appropriate PE Kit in a labelled PE bag.
    • Learning Homework and spellings will go home on a Monday and need to be practiced for the Friday Big Quiz.
    • Literacy, Numeracy, Topic or RE Homework will go home on a Friday to be returned the following Tuesday.

Message from the Headteacher

Dear Friends

The prayer of which Bishop John has always asked us to say is

“Stay with us, Lord, On our Journey”

This is so appropriate for all of us here in St. Cuthbert’s School Community as we embark on our special journey of making the school Outstanding. The prayer is written throughout the school and is a constant reminder and prompt that all that we do in serving this community is done with the help of the Lord.

May we be generous in embracing change and always be sensitive to one another as we take the next step on our Journey together with the Lord.

God Bless,
