Today a group of Year 5 and Year 6 visited St. Peter's Square for the unveiling of a statue of Emmeline Pankhurst. 'Our Emmeline' is the first female statue in our city since Queen Victoria 117 years ago. It marked an important time in our history celebrating 100 years to the day that women got the vote in Britain. The children enjoyed their first experience of a march and were very passionate about equality in our country. A day that will live long in the memory for our children.
